St. George’s Couch Memorabilia

This small work carries a faint smudge of red spray on a strip of upholstery fabric, taken from my larger piece St George Chair. It stands as a piece of history, a memorabilia of protest. What was once both the flag of a nation and a comfortable chair is here reduced to pure art. The red mark, once a bold cross, now lingers as a quiet echo of its original force, turning an everyday material into a relic of meaning, memory, and transformation.
